The assembly met for its first online session on Wednesday 5th march, with all 41 participants returning for their second session together. Those who had little experience of working online were supported by the Shared Future technical team ahead of the meeting, and some worked on specially loaned laptops. This session was a chance to hear how climate change decisions are being made currently, and if these can these be influenced by members of the public. To help them, the group heard from and questioned Cllr. Giles Archibald from Westmorland and Furness Council and Cllr. Bob Kelly from Cumberland Council, David Beeby from Enterprising Cumbria, Carolyn Otley from Cumbria CVS and Tim Duckmanton from the Lake District National Park.
