Kendal citizens’ jury

Logo: Kendal Climate Change Citizens' JuryIn 2021, Kendal became the first town in the UK to host a citizens’ jury. Kendal Town Council was determined that the local plan of action on climate change would be guided by the people of Kendal. To do this they organised a citizens’ jury, made possible by crowdfunding and run by Shared Future.

Twenty people chosen at random were brought together to answer the question: What should Kendal do about climate change?

The jury members heard from an impressive range of experts. They included a superb overview of climate change by Chris Stark, who leads the UK Committee on Climate Change.
