Join Clean River Kent Campaign (CRKC) to explore how a charter of rights can contribute to the regeneration and protection of a river.
There is a growing movement in the UK for nature to be included in our legal, moral and political community through a Rights of Nature lens. In March 2025, Lewes District Council became the first Council in the UK to acknowledge a Charter of Rights for a river – the Ouse. At this event, hear from Josh Levene, a Director of Love Our Ouse, the organisation which led this initiative. In this interactive session, Josh will explore what the implications are for other rivers in the UK, like the River Kent.
Entry is free but please RSVP TO senstaveley@gmail.com by Monday 12th May so CRKC have an idea of numbers. There are local car parks with no charge after 6.00 pm, including at Kendal Parish Centre, Peppercorn Lane, Bowman and Dowkers Lane.
