Climate Science and Solutions for Cumbria

Do you want to get your facts straight about climate science and solutions?

CALC are hosting this 2-hour online workshop for Town and Parish Councillors, delivered by Cumbria Action for Sustainability. The session provides a time-efficient option to give you an overview of climate change and will help build confidence in your ability to explain it to others and to take action. It is an essential interactive briefing on climate science and solutions for Cumbria.

Climate Science and Solutions for Cumbria will give you:

• Basic understanding of the science of climate change, causes, impacts and solutions.
• Basic understanding of sources of Cumbria’s emissions and action being taken to reduce them.
• Understanding of the climate crisis, how soon we need to act, the scale of that action, and your part in that bigger picture.
• Confidence in your climate knowledge and increased ability to articulate what needs to be done.
• An increased sense of agency around your ability to be part of that change, on an individual, community and organisational level

You will leave this session with a greater understanding of the climate crisis and the science of climate change, the ability to articulate what needs to be done, and a more positive outlook on how you can be part of the solution.
