Cold to Cosy Homes Cumbria: Energy Champions training for community volunteers

Thu 27 April @ 7:00 pm

Free

This energy champions training session is a free webinar especially for community volunteers who help and care for others through their work, either in people’s homes or in the community.

It’s an ideal information session for parish councillors, community stalwarts, sustainability group members, local committee members or anyone whose paths cross with other members of their community.

CAfS’ Cold to Cosy Homes Cumbria service is free to a wide range of eligible Cumbrian householders. The service offers free home energy advice either over the phone or a home visit. The advice covers bills and tariffs, and our advisers can suggest and install free energy saving equipment and identify eligibility for further support. Attending this session aims to help you to support your friends, family and fellow residents to get warmer, dryer, less draughty homes to improve their physical and mental wellbeing, and of course lower their energy bills.

This one-hour session will cover the Cold to Cosy Homes service offer, who is eligible, how to make a referral and more. On completion, you’ll have all the information you need to share information about the service with your contacts to make sure people can benefit from it.

Cumbria Action for Sustainability have been helping people to save energy in their homes for more than 20 years. We run the Cold to Cosy Homes Cumbria service in conjunction with the Local Energy Advice Partnership (LEAP) and councils and local authorities in Cumbria, supported by funding from the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme.
