Free Event in Carlisle: Renovation – Creating a warm and low energy home

Wed 26 March, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

At this free event, CAfS independent renovation expert Tina Holt will cover a range of house renovation options to make your home warmer, healthier and more energy efficient. Considering typical Carlisle homes, from traditional properties to more modern houses and the different ways they might be treated, Tina will cover smaller-scale interventions that are easier and cheaper to install, and larger scale projects such as adding insulation and new windows, to improving ventilation or changing your heating system and adding renewable energy generation such as solar panels and heat pumps, a process often called retrofit.

The benefits of such renovation projects will be demonstrated by real-life examples of Cumbrian properties which will show what has been done and the benefits the householder has seen.

The event will also touch on the value of thermal imaging and show how this helps to identify cold spots and how it can be used to identify quick fixes and longer term retrofit solutions.

Tina will explain how you can access support from the CAfS Home Retrofit service, which includes a wide range of expert advice, from home energy audits through to advice while your building work is underway. Click here to find out more.

There will be opportunity throughout to ask questions.
