Point Of Change is a powerful documentary about how surfing changed an Indonesian island forever.
The film tells the story of Nias, a remote, idyllic Indonesian island whose discovery by surfers in the 1970s transformed the local community. Through rare Super 8 footage, interviews, and animations, we see how finding the ‘perfect wave’ led to unexpected social and environmental impacts on the island and its people.
Featuring original music by Paul Oakenfold, the documentary serves as a warning about how outside forces can dramatically reshape isolated communities.
