Visit Dubbs Moss Reserve – a remnant of Atlantic rainforest on Cockermouth’s doorstep!
Meet at Wellington Farm car park at 6.30pm to join the guided walk, which will take the permissive route over a field to Dubbs Moss nature reserve (which is owned and managed by Cumbria Wildlife Trust). It’s not a large reserve – about 20 acres – but it packs a lot into a small area: wet woodland, scrub, open grassland and wetland. Follow the trail around the reserve quietly observing birds, mammals, insects, flowers and funguses.
The whole event will take an hour to an hour and a half.
Wear waterproof footwear as it can get boggy after rain.
