When Climate Change Makes People Move

Thu 15 June @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

A talk exploring beyond the headlines.
Joe Human: With 20 years teaching humanities in Kenya, Papua New Guinea and England, 20 years working for Oxfam in communications and another 15 as a Fairtrade campaigner, Joe Human has had a lifetime telling stories of people on the frontline. Now involved with Sustainable Keswick he is putting his time and energies into communicating through words and pictures the realities of life for people on the frontline of climate change.
‘When climate change makes people move,’ the title of his talk, looks at three parts of the world where rising sea-levels, hurricanes and drought are forcing millions to migrate, often across borders, and he will speak of his personal experience of one of these scenarios. These are very compelling stories which, as climate change accelerates, have consequences for us all.
