Have you been to a library this week?
Libraries week is a national event. This year the week has been dedicated to ‘Green Libraries’ – and libraries across Cumbria are undertaking activities and events that will promote sustainable lifestyles, climate-friendly initiatives and an awareness of environmental stewardship.
The events are suited to a wide range of audiences, and cover all aspects of sustainable living: Halloween Costume Swap Appeals; home energy efficiency upgrades advice; family sessions with advice and crafts, and carbon footprint calculations.
Experts will also be on hand at many of these events – including a talk by Joe Human titled ‘When Climate Change Makes People Move’ at Kendal library on Saturday 7 October.
