Half-price climate and carbon training for voluntary groups and social enterprises

If you’re with a voluntary organisation, community group or a social enterprise in Cumbria or the North East, you can take advantage of half price places on a full-day course to help you understand and reduce your carbon footprint.

You can book up to three places on accredited carbon literacy training for just £69 per person, thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and County Durham Community Foundation.

Attendees on this nationally recognised course get a solid overview of climate science, looking at what’s causing climate change and what the solutions are, plus what the situation is here in our area. They’ll also cover how to calculate their carbon footprint. The course will help them see what action they could take at work and in their own lives. It would be helpful with developing a carbon reduction plan for your organisation, for example.

Those who complete the training will gain nationally recognised accreditation from the Carbon Literacy Trust, so it’s great for your team’s ongoing learning and professional development.

The discounted courses are running in November and December. The half-price rate is £69 per person. You can send up to 3 people from your organisation.

The courses are run by Cumbria Action for Sustainability and you can find out more on their website.

If your organisation is taking action to reduce carbon emissions, tell us about it so we can feature it in the news or features sections.

Use the Zero Carbon Cumbria Doing our bit! logo to show that your actions are part of the wider effort to reach net zero in the county.
