Youth Climate Summit – agenda takes shape.

This year the Youth Climate Summit is at Queen Katharine School in Kendal.  The Cumbria Development Education Centre, (CDEC), have worked with Zero Carbon Cumbria to develop a packed agenda for young people with a choice of workshops, different speakers and a networking lunch to meet different organisations. All based around a theme chosen by school pupils themselves; energy and biodiversity.

Youth Climate Summit Workshops

A choice of energy and biodiversity workshops will allow the young people to look at renewable energy choices for their schools, enhance their knowledge of biodiversity in their local area and even have their say on the sector group work that Zero Carbon Cumbria are working on. Other workshops explore journaling for climate communication and a rewilding project led by young people.

Schools choose two climate-based workshops for their young people to be part of, enjoy a low-carbon lunch and will hear from all areas of the Zero Carbon Cumbria partnership as well as getting the chance to give their thoughts and ideas. The chance to meet and network with other like-minded pupils from other schools is also built into the agenda; an important part of the day that is always popular.

If you want your school to attend – get in touch with us. We can help with transport, and would love all ages and all areas of Cumbria represented.
